For over 130 years, our staff has been dedicated to delivering high quality health care with state-of-the-art technology. Claxton-Hepburn has kept pace with the advancement of technology with the addition of a 128-slice CT scanner with iDose technology, PET imaging, 1.4T Signa Excite HDx MRI, 3D mammography, 3D/4D ultrasound, and a 24-station dialysis unit. The 130-bed facility includes a 28-bed acute care mental health center, a 10-bed intensive care unit, a 10-bed obstetrics unit. Our medical center is a regional referral center serving a population of 110,000 in St. Lawrence County and provides primary care for a population of 40,000 in Ogdensburg and the surrounding communities. The Medical Center operates primary care centers in the communities of Canton, Hammond, Heuvelton, Madrid, Ogdensburg, and Waddington. Our medical staff provides excellent care and consists of the following specialties: internal medicine, nephrology, gastroenterology, critical care, medical oncology, radiation oncology, family practice, general surgery, retinal and pediatric ophthalmology, urology, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, pain management, pediatrics, anesthesiology, pathology, oral surgery, interventional radiology, and emergency medicine. In today’s challenging healthcare environment, Claxton-Hepburn remains dedicated to high quality healthcare. The last decade has seen significant growth with the recruitment of additional physicians in existing and new specialties, the constant upgrade of equipment and the addition of many new services at the Medical Center. In recent years, Claxton-Hepburn’s commitment to quality has been recognized multiple national accreditations in radiology, cancer, and cardiology, as well as excelling with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Value Based Purchasing. The campus includes: the main hospital, our dually accredited Richard E. Winter Cancer Center, and the Dr. Ravinder N. Agarwal Renal Center, the only center in the region to offer home hemodialysis along with in-center dialysis and CAPD. Located off campus, is the Rev. Thomas T. Patterson Wound Healing Center, providing specialized care in wound management, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Our Cancer Center is the only radiation oncology site between Syracuse and Burlington to offer IMRT SmartBeam Technology and chemotherapy under one roof. With the addition our new Trilogy linear accelerator, we can treat more cancers in a shorter amount of time using SBRT and SRS.
