Since 1869, St. Peter's Hospital has been a transforming, healing presence to patients and families in northeastern New York. Acting in the Catholic tradition of the Religious Sisters of Mercy, St. Peter's is dedicated to caring for the whole individual: from before birth until the last days of life. St. Peter's is a 442-bed acute care facility with an award-winning Cardiac and Vascular Center, Cancer Care Center, Breast Center and other medical services. It has earned several top national and state honors for its overall care, cardiovascular care, patient safety and nursing services, including re-designation in 2009 as a Magnet hospital, the gold standard for nursing care. Since 1998, more medical/surgical patients have been treated at St. Peter’s than any other hospital in the region.
